Is MapScore a Google Maps Timeline alternative?
Yes. MapScore builds a timeline of your trips and stops automatically, like Google Maps Timeline did, but it keeps everything in an encrypted database on your phone instead of in an account. It also adds a Lifetime Map, ExplorerScore and export to GPX, GeoJSON and CSV.
Does MapScore upload my location?
No. Your routes, stops, places and statistics stay on your phone. MapScore has no account and no server to send them to. If you turn on Google Maps street maps, Google receives the map area you are viewing. If you turn on automatic address names, the coordinate of a confirmed stop may be sent to your phone’s geocoding service. Both are optional.
Do I need to create an account?
No. There is nothing to sign up for. Purchases are handled by the App Store or Google Play.
How much battery does it use?
MapScore uses precise GPS only while you are moving. When you stay in one place it switches GPS off and uses your phone’s low-power location checks to confirm you are still there. Battery use depends on your phone and how much you move.
What happens indoors or with weak GPS?
MapScore records a route only from precise fixes. When the signal is weak it leaves a gap rather than drawing a guess, so what you see is what really happened.
Can I export or move my history?
Yes. Export raw points as GPX, GeoJSON or CSV at any time, or create an encrypted backup protected by your own password to move your full history to a new phone.
How do I delete my data?
Open Settings, then Data & privacy, and erase your history. Uninstalling MapScore also removes everything stored by the app on that phone.
How much does MapScore cost?
MapScore is free to download and use, with every feature and your most recent days on screen. Older days keep recording and stay saved on your phone, and a subscription or one-time purchase through the App Store or Google Play opens your whole history. Current prices for your country are shown on each store listing.
Is MapScore available on iPhone?
Yes. MapScore runs on iPhones with iOS 17 or newer, from the App Store, and on Android 7.0 or newer with Google Play.
